The Canberra Mk.20 was an Australian built version of the British designed English Electric Canberra. They began entering service with the RAAF in 1953 and served until June 1982.

The GAF Canberra Mk.20 was made in Australia by the Government Aircraft Factories in the 1950s.

It was a licence built version of the English Electric Canberra B.2.

The Canberra was an early jet powered bomber designed in Britain which first flew in May 1949.

A total of 1373 Canberras were built, 901 in Britain, 424 in the United States (as the B-57) and 48 in Australia.

The first Australian built Canberra flew in May 1953 and the final one was delivered to the RAAF in September 1958.

They flew with three squadrons, the third to convert to it was No 1 Squadron, starting in July 1958.
