Moorabbin Air Museum
12 First Street
Moorabbin Airport
Moorabbin, Melbourne, Australia
The Moorabbin Air Museum is one of the largest in Australia and is operated by the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group. It has on display many aircraft that are important to the history of aviation in Australia. It is open daily from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and 10am to 5pm on weekends.
The Museum hosted an ‘open cockpit’ weekend on Saturday and Sunday 18 & 19 November 2023 which we attended on the Saturday. It was perfect weather for the event and there was a large turn out with many families keen to share with their children the interest and excitement of aviation by getting into many aircraft that are usually not open to museum visitors. To summarize the day, it was great fun.
The following photos give a sense of everything that was on show during the day. We will have to return again when there is less excitement in the air to take a better look at the museum’s aircraft and other displays.
