The Embraer ERJ 170 is the smallest of the Embraer ERJ class of narrow body airliners and is a direct competitors with the Bombardier CRJ-700 and earlier airliners such as the BAe 146 and Fokker 70.

The Embraer ERJ (Embraer Regional Jet) 170 is the smallest of a family of four ERJs, all with similar characteristics.

The major difference between the ERJ 170 and 175 is fuselage length and passenger capacity, the ERJ 190 and 195 have the same width fuselage but a larger wing and more powerful engines.

They have been very popular and 713 of all version have been produced to February 2011.

The ERJ 170 was the first version to be produced and made its first flight on 19 February 2002. It entered service with its launch customer, LOT, in March 2004.

This model represents SP-LDD of LOT in April 2010.
