The Farman 380 was a French racing monoplane built by Avions Farman in 1933. It was designed to complete in that year’s Coupe Deutsche de la Meurthe air race but failed to start due to undercarriage failure.

The Farman 380 was a French racing aeroplane designed in 1933 to compete in the Coupe Deutsch de la Meurthe air race.

This race was the premier French air race flown during the inter-war period.

The 1933 race was flown over four laps of a 1,000 kilometre course with a refuelling stop after the second lap.

Prior to the race the Farman 380 broke the class world speed record at 303.387km/h over a 200km course.

However the single wheel undercarriage collapsed at the beginning of the race and it is likely that this aircraft did not fly again.

A larger but similar Farman 380 was also entered in the 1933 race but did not complete it due to engine problems.

This kit represents the Farman 380 in May 1933.
