History

The Focke Wulf Fw190 was a powerful fighter/bomber used by Axis air Forces during World War II. Over 20,000 were made.

The Fw190A version entered service in August 1941 and was improved in stages with the A-5 version improved so it could carry a heavier bomb load. They started entering service at the beginning of 1943.

This Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-5, White E’ of 13/SKG 10, was based at Caen-Carpiquet in France in 1943.

It was flown by Staffelkapitan, Leutnant Leopold ‘Poldi’ Wenger. The aircraft’s markings were heavily oversprayed including the national markings and code letters due to the ill-fated night raids over Southern England.

‘Poldi’ Wenger was KIA with 6/SG 10 on the 10th April 1945.

Hasegawa 1/32 A-5 base kit with a mix of kit and aftermarket decals. Eduard aftermarket instrument panel and seatbelts. Painted in SMS lacquers with MIG and AK pigments and panel wash for weathering along with pastels and washes. Completed by Wayne in 2022.
