Often considered the most beautiful car ever made, the Jaguar E-Type was the height of automotive style and performance in the 1960s and early 1970s. Over 38,400 E-Types were manufactured between 1961 and 1975

The E-Type Jaguar was developed from the Jaguar D-Type racing car that had won the Le Mans 24 hour race for three consecutive years (1955-57) and used many of its features that were unusual in sports cars at that time.

The first E-Type was released in March 1961 and produced in right and left hand drive and fastback coupe and open roadster versions.

Initially they had 3.8 litre engines that were replaced, in 1965 with a 4.2litre engine and other improvements without changing the outward shape of the car.

Between 1961 and 1968 31,419 E-Types were manufactured before production switched to Series 2 and, later, Series 3s, featuring modifications to suit American vehicle regulations but detracting for the initial beauty of the design.
