History
The Kawasaki Ki-61 (allied code name Tony) was a Japanese World War 2 fighter. They were flown by the Imperial Japanese Army air force in all theatres of the Pacific was from 1942 and as an interceptor against air raids over Japan.
The Kawasaski Ki-61 was is one of the Hei models that received the much valued German MG 151 20mm Mauser Cannons which were shipped from Germany to Japan via Submarine (possibly an Italian Boat) numbering about 400 complete cannon.
This model represents a Ki-61 of the 244th Sentai possibly at Chofu or one of the many airfields the 244th were based in surrounding Tokyo

Hasegawa 1/32 kit with Hasegawa after-market QG14 metal bun barrels and pitot tubing, Red Fox cockpit set, Eduard seat belts, Montex canopy masking and Dead Design national and unit markings masking. Lead wire was used for for brake lines and cockpit wiring and SMS and AK-RC Lacquer paint. Completed by Wayne Eagles in 2023.
