The Centrair C201 Marianne was a training glider designed and built in France in the 1980s. It was not as successful as had been hoped and production stopped when Centrair went out of business in 1988.

In 1983 the French gliding federation (Federation Francaise de Vol a Voile) ordered a new two seat training glider to replace the existing French trainer fleet of almost 300 gliders.

The French glider manufacturer Centair won the design competition with the assistance of outside companies including Dassault.

The prototype made its first flight on 19 September 1985 and the type received certification in January 1987.

It gained mixed reception with good performance that was about equal with its competition and viceless handling qualities.

However it was difficult to rig and de-rig and the back seat was uncomfortable with a restricted view.

When Centrair ceased trading in 1988 only eighty had been sold, fewer than hoped.

This model represents F-CGTM flying in France in the late 1980s.
